Jesus Healing Miracles – He healed all sick people

Jesus Heals all the sick

Jesus Heals all the sick

Matthew 8:16-17

16 That evening they brought to him many who were possessed with demons; and he cast out the spirits with a word, and cured all who were sick.

17 This was to fulfill what had been spoken through the prophet Isaiah, “He took our infirmities and bore our diseases.”

In verses 17 The Apostle Matthew confirmed Jesus as the Messiah who provides redemption from sin and physical healing for mankind, fulfilling Isaiah’s prophesy.
The price for your healing was paid at Calvary by Jesus Christ. Your physical healing is part of your redemption from sin and ultimately Satan.

Some people are possessed or influenced by demons. What are the symptoms of demonic influence? How a demon possesses someone?
There is a wide variety of possible symptoms of demon possession, such as a physical impairment that cannot be attributed to an actual physiological problem, a personality change such as depression or aggression, supernatural strength, immodesty, antisocial behavior, and perhaps the ability to share information that one has no natural way of knowing.  These are some of the possible symptoms but it is important not to label every depressed person or epileptic individual as demon-possessed. Apart from physical or emotional distinctions, one can also have spiritual attributes showing demonic influence, such as angry, refusal to forgive, speaking wrong about Jesus, church, priests etc.

While praying for the sick some spiritual leaders can easily recognise the demon and in the name of Jesus they can kick out Satan.

It may be possible that if one allows his heart to be ruled by some habitual sin, it becomes an invitation for a demon to enter. These days the internet is such a medium for some people to invite demon in their life. Some websites, videos, photos, chat all are medium for people to invite Satan in their heart and they are addicted to it. In the above Bible verses Jesus cast out the spirits with a word. Never be afraid of demon, pray with strong faith, read Bible regularly and kick out Satan.

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. (Hebrews 13:8).

Jesus never changes and still provides healing for all that come to him today.  A believer in Jesus Christ should have full confidence that God will heal the sick as God forgive sins.  A believer can get God’s healing power through his own faith or through the faith of some other believer. Be a good believer and pray to God with strong faith, you will surely realise the healing power of God. Whatever may be your disease, may be rejected case from hospital, but believe that he can do miracles and heal you.  You can download Prayer for the sick. This is a very useful prayer. I pray this prayer daily.

Do you believe that God can heal you?

Do you have any experience of healing the body or mind with your prayers to God? If yes, share your testimony below in comment. Your testimony will help others to understand the love and healing power of God.

Jesus Healing Miracles – Jesus Cleanses a Leper

Jesus Cleanses the Leper

Jesus Cleanses the Leper

Leprosy was greatly feared by the Israelites, not only because of the physical damage done by the disease, but also because of the strict isolation laws applying to leprosy, making patients feel like feared outcasts of society. Leprosy is a terrible skin disease that cause people’s flesh to scar and decay. People suffering from leprosy often couldn’t feel physical pain, because leprosy destroys the body’s nerve endings. So lepers would frequently damage body parts (like fingers and toes) without realizing it.  Since leprosy was highly contagious, rules for separating lepers from other people were put into place as health safeguards. But the rules were humiliating for the lepers. Lepers were banished from healthy people’s presence to live in communities with other lepers (which were often located in isolated caves). Even today lepers are seperated from families and society and kept in seperate care centres. Families are often split. Lepers suffer both the disease and ostracism from society. Blessed Mother Teresa had done a lot of help to the Lepers in India. She had created a Leprosy Fund and a Leprosy Day to help educate the public about the disease and established a number of mobile leper clinics to provide lepers with medicine and bandages near their homes. Mother Teresa had established a leper colony called Shanti Nagar (“The Place of Peace”) where lepers could live and work. Missionaries of Charity sisters are taking care of the lepers in many places.

Jesus Cleanses a Leper

Matthew 8:1-3

1. When Jesus had come down from the mountain, great crowds followed him;
2 and there was a leper who came to him and knelt before him, saying, “Lord, if you choose, you can make me clean.”
3 He stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, “I do choose. Be made clean!” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed.
4 Then Jesus said to him, “See that you say nothing to anyone; but go, show yourself to the priest, and offer the gift that Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”

Jesus reached out and touched a man with leprosy!  This was not allowed then and now Jesus would be unclean…besides this man looked really bad and was sick! Jesus healed the man of his disease but also cleansed him from his sin without becoming infected himself.

Christ performs a miracle in which there can be no doubt that God alone healed him. God’s healing power is most obviously seen when He provides deliverance in a “hopeless” situation. He often works this way with us, allowing trials to become increasingly worse before. He works His will.  Sometimes Satan may bring wrong thoughts against prayer and Jesus in our mind. But at that time we should pray with more faith and devotion and kick out Satan from temptations. Sometimes we feel that Jesus is deaf to our prayers. But as the situation deteriorates, He may simply be letting the situation progress so that we have no doubt about who has come to our aid and whose power solved the crisis. In persevering, we grow spiritually, and He receives greater glory. Many times the sickness and pain may lead us to pray more and grow spiritually.

The message that we should learn from this story is that it doesn’t matter to Jesus what you’ve done, how you look or what other people think about you.  He made you and he loves you. Everyday Jesus is trying to reach out and show His love to you but sometimes we’re too busy to notice or understand his love. Sometimes we forget to thank Jesus for his love and affection.

Pray this prayer

“Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me…. Heal me who is sick.”

If you, your friend or relative is sick, then pray this Prayer for the Sick with strong faith in the greatest physician, Jesus Christ of Nazreth. If you have faith, miracles will surely happen.

Have you ever forgot to  thank and praise him for the healing you received from him?

Have you ever experienced that your sickness and pain helped you to grow spiritually and realise the love of Jesus?

If yes, share your testimony with others, in comment below, which will help others to understand the love of Jesus and get his blessings and healing.

May Jesus Bless you and your family.

Illumination reflection in the pond water – Night time – Photo challenge

The St. Mary’s Church at Athirampuzha is one of the oldest in Kerala. Though dedicated to Mother Mary, it is the feast of Saint Sebastian which attracts a large crowd. Main celebration and procession at night is on Jan.24th and 25th. I have captured a few photos when I attended this function in Jan.2012.  I have posted more photos in my earlier post.

Make it Count – A humble message to God

I have a humble message to the Lord , who sent his only son to the world to save the world.

 “Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.(John 3:17)

My message and prayer is :

“Lord,  some people are more attracted to  entertainment, enjoyment with latest technology and living in a wrong path. Kindly send your holy spirit and help the people to repent,reconcile and love each other as per the will of the God.”

Today’s daily prompt is called Make It Count .

Beautiful Creation – Resurrection of Jesus

“If Christ has not been raised, our preaching is useless and so is your faith” (1 Cor. 15:14).

Easter – St. Benedict’s Church – Bhagalpur

If Jesus Christ did not rise from the dead, everything else is a waste of words. Jesus has risen from the dead—as our Savior, and as the promise that we will also rise from the dead.

Resurrection of Jesus is one of the major evidences that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

and was declared to be Son of God with power according to the spirit of holiness by resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord, (Romans 1:4)

Do you like this video? A group of faithful parishoners imagination and hard work.
Jesus’ resurrection represents an assurance that we can have forgiveness from our sins.

If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins. (1 Corinthians 15:17)

May Jesus Bless you and your family.

Repent and Reconcile with the Lord, for attaining the graces of the promised land !

We don’t like the word “repentance.” To repent means to turn around and head in a different direction. Once we have confessed our sin, we must turn from it.

Or do you despise the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience? Do you not realize that God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance? (Romans 2:4)

Repentance is more than turning away from our sin.
Know that if we walk through confession, repentance, and forgiveness, we will be reconciled to God. If we are reconciled to God, we can be reconciled to one another.  We are ministers of reconciliation, seeking to bring others into unity through Jesus.

Below is a good video clip of sermon by Fr. Xavier Khan Vattayil  popularly known as ‘Vattayilachan’, a Roman Catholic priest from Syro-Malabar Catholic Diocese of Palghat in India, known for his preaching and especially evangelization through television, radio and other mediums. He is the founder-director of Sehion Retreat Centre in Attapady, Kerala State, India. This speech is in Malayalam (Language of Kerala),  with English sub titles.

You may ask why you need to be reconciled to God.

as it is written: “There is no one who is righteous, not even one; (Romans 3:10)

since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God; (Romans 3:23)

The Bible also teaches that in every part of the human heart is sin.

The heart is devious above all else;
    it is perverse—
    who can understand it? (Jeremiah 17:9)

So what must you do to receive God’s forgiveness?  Repent and believe the Gospel.

No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all perish as they did. (Luke 13:3,5)

It is written in James 4:6-10

But he gives all the more grace; therefore it says,

“God opposes the proud,
    but gives grace to the humble.”

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Lament and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy into dejection.

10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.

Salvation is for all

because if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)

You must be going to the Church and attend the Holy mass daily, or atleast on every sunday. You must be praying to God with devotion and faith. Do you remember that how many times you attended the prayers keeping angry with others in your mind ? Sometimes you may be angry with the priest/pastor who lead the prayers. Sometimes the person who sit near to you in the church may be the one with whom you are angry. Do you think your offerings and prayers will be accepted by God when you have angry with someone in your mind? Let us see what is written in the Bible about this.

Concerning Anger (Matthew 5:23-26 )

23 So when you are offering your gift at the altar, if you remember that your brother or sister has something against you,

24 leave your gift there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother or sister, and then come and offer your gift.

This is very important that you should have a clean heart before you pray to God. Then only your prayers and offerings will be accepted by God and his blessings will shower on you.

Misuse of the tongue – Sins of the tongue

Holy Bible

You need your tongue to chew, swallow, and sing. You taste with it, talk with it, and sometimes even stick it out! What is evil tongue? A tongue which speak evil things is an evil tongue. A tongue can make friends, make enemies, make another person happy, make another person cry and much more. So a tongue is very powerful part of the human body. It is apparent that we all have within our power many uses of the tongue that are good and acceptable with God. But there are specific references to types of misuse of the tongue as well. You witness the misuse of the tongue every day. Whether it is your classmates who gossip and betray one another, or people who verbally abuse each other, you see it all the time! The tongue can be a powerful tool for good or a powerful weapon for those who are bent on evil. The tongue has the ability to determine the direction of our lives. It can make or break us.  The tongue is certainly an essential tool in carrying out our God given responsibilities. It is safe to say that any misuse of the tongue like cursing, backbiting, lying, spreading rumour, or presenting false doctrine is done to cover up a weakness. If one is able to control his tongue, he is a mature person able to control his whole body. Lack of control means just the opposite of control and is an indication of gross immaturity.

We want to see how specifically the Scriptures speak out against sins of the tongue.

12 If you blow on a spark, it will glow;
    if you spit on it, it will be put out;
    yet both come out of your mouth.

13 Curse the gossips and the double-tongued,
    for they destroy the peace of many.

14 Slander has shaken many,
    and scattered them from nation to nation;
it has destroyed strong cities,
    and overturned the houses of the great.

15 Slander has driven virtuous women from their homes,
    and deprived them of the fruit of their toil.

16 Those who pay heed to slander will not find rest,
    nor will they settle down in peace.

17 The blow of a whip raises a welt,
    but a blow of the tongue crushes the bones.

18 Many have fallen by the edge of the sword,
    but not as many as have fallen because of the tongue.

19 Happy is the one who is protected from it,
    who has not been exposed to its anger,
who has not borne its yoke,
    and has not been bound with its fetters.

20 For its yoke is a yoke of iron,
    and its fetters are fetters of bronze;

21 its death is an evil death,
    and Hades is preferable to it.

22 It has no power over the godly;
    they will not be burned in its flame.

23 Those who forsake the Lord will fall into its power;
    it will burn among them and will not be put out.
It will be sent out against them like a lion;
    like a leopard it will mangle them.

24a As you fence in your property with thorns,
25b     so make a door and a bolt for your mouth.
24b As you lock up your silver and gold,
25a     so make balances and scales for your words.

26 Take care not to err with your tongue,
    and fall victim to one lying in wait. (Sirach 28:12 to 26)

Obviously we have all misused our tongues. Think of a situation you remember where you sinned in this way. If possible try to ask pardon to that person you hurt with your tongue, else remember him in your prayers and ask pardon in prayer to God for the sin done with your tongue. Ready, Set, Done
