This is called chuttu vilakku. Oil lamps in a row is fixed around this. you can see small steel mugs there. Oil offered by devotees is kept there. People take one mug oil and pour drops in each lamp in the row. Since the photo is zoom, lamps are not visible. Pouring oil in this lamp is an offering there. It was my great wish to visit this church once. Last June I could visit and that is a great treasure for me.
