Repent and Reconcile with the Lord, for attaining the graces of the promised land !

We don’t like the word “repentance.” To repent means to turn around and head in a different direction. Once we have confessed our sin, we must turn from it.

Or do you despise the riches of his kindness and forbearance and patience? Do you not realize that God’s kindness is meant to lead you to repentance? (Romans 2:4)

Repentance is more than turning away from our sin.
Know that if we walk through confession, repentance, and forgiveness, we will be reconciled to God. If we are reconciled to God, we can be reconciled to one another.  We are ministers of reconciliation, seeking to bring others into unity through Jesus.

Below is a good video clip of sermon by Fr. Xavier Khan Vattayil  popularly known as ‘Vattayilachan’, a Roman Catholic priest from Syro-Malabar Catholic Diocese of Palghat in India, known for his preaching and especially evangelization through television, radio and other mediums. He is the founder-director of Sehion Retreat Centre in Attapady, Kerala State, India. This speech is in Malayalam (Language of Kerala),  with English sub titles.

You may ask why you need to be reconciled to God.

as it is written: “There is no one who is righteous, not even one; (Romans 3:10)

since all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God; (Romans 3:23)

The Bible also teaches that in every part of the human heart is sin.

The heart is devious above all else;
    it is perverse—
who can understand it? (Jeremiah 17:9)

So what must you do to receive God’s forgiveness?  Repent and believe the Gospel.

No, I tell you; but unless you repent, you will all perish as they did. (Luke 13:3,5)

It is written in James 4:6-10

But he gives all the more grace; therefore it says,

“God opposes the proud,
but gives grace to the humble.”

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

Lament and mourn and weep. Let your laughter be turned into mourning and your joy into dejection.

10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.

Salvation is for all

because if you confess with your lips that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Romans 10:9)

You must be going to the Church and attend the Holy mass daily, or atleast on every sunday. You must be praying to God with devotion and faith. Do you remember that how many times you attended the prayers keeping angry with others in your mind ? Sometimes you may be angry with the priest/pastor who lead the prayers. Sometimes the person who sit near to you in the church may be the one with whom you are angry. Do you think your offerings and prayers will be accepted by God when you have angry with someone in your mind? Let us see what is written in the Bible about this.

Concerning Anger (Matthew 5:23-26 )

23 So when you are offering your gift at the altar, if you remember that your brother or sister has something against you,

24 leave your gift there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother or sister, and then come and offer your gift.

This is very important that you should have a clean heart before you pray to God. Then only your prayers and offerings will be accepted by God and his blessings will shower on you.
