Heavenly Melodies Epi:1- RAMIELS

Long back in 1st century A.D, something strange happened in a prison. “About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly there was an earth quake so violent that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened and everyone’s chains were unfastened.” (Acts 16:25). The mighty God of Paul and Silas is still alive. When dynamic youngsters from various countries sing beautiful hymns in praise of God, how can we not expect that the bondage of sins will be broken and people be set free to a new sky and new earth!

For idea of Christianity, call 2 Corinthians 5:15-19

2 Corinthians 5:15-19

15 And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again.

16 So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here! 18 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: 19 that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting people’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.

Scripture Readings for Fourth week of Lent – Thursday

Israel has come to the edge of the Promised Land of Canaan, and, in Numbers 12:16-13:3, 17-33, the Lord tells Moses to send a scouting party into the land. They return with the news that the land flows with milk and honey, as God had promised, but they are afraid to enter it, because it is occupied by men who are stronger than they are.

Numbers 12:16

16 After that the people set out from Hazeroth, and camped in the wilderness of Paran.

Numbers 13:1-3

1The Lord said to Moses, “Send men to spy out the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the Israelites; from each of their ancestral tribes you shall send a man, every one a leader among them.” So Moses sent them from the wilderness of Paran, according to the command of the Lord, all of them leading men among the Israelites.

Numbers 13:17-33

17 Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said to them, “Go up there into the Negeb, and go up into the hill country, 18 and see what the land is like, and whether the people who live in it are strong or weak, whether they are few or many, 19 and whether the land they live in is good or bad, and whether the towns that they live in are unwalled or fortified, 20 and whether the land is rich or poor, and whether there are trees in it or not. Be bold, and bring some of the fruit of the land.” Now it was the season of the first ripe grapes.

21 So they went up and spied out the land from the wilderness of Zin to Rehob, near Lebo-hamath. 22 They went up into the Negeb, and came to Hebron; and Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the Anakites, were there. (Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.) 23 And they came to the Wadi Eshcol, and cut down from there a branch with a single cluster of grapes, and they carried it on a pole between two of them. They also brought some pomegranates and figs. 24 That place was called the Wadi Eshcol,[a] because of the cluster that the Israelites cut down from there.

The Report of the Spies

25 At the end of forty days they returned from spying out the land. 26 And they came to Moses and Aaron and to all the congregation of the Israelites in the wilderness of Paran, at Kadesh; they brought back word to them and to all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land. 27 And they told him, “We came to the land to which you sent us; it flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit. 28 Yet the people who live in the land are strong, and the towns are fortified and very large; and besides, we saw the descendants of Anak there. 29 The Amalekites live in the land of the Negeb; the Hittites, the Jebusites, and the Amorites live in the hill country; and the Canaanites live by the sea, and along the Jordan.”

30 But Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and occupy it, for we are well able to overcome it.” 31 Then the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against this people, for they are stronger than we.” 32 So they brought to the Israelites an unfavorable report of the land that they had spied out, saying, “The land that we have gone through as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants; and all the people that we saw in it are of great size. 33 There we saw the Nephilim (the Anakites come from the Nephilim); and to ourselves we seemed like grasshoppers, and so we seemed to them.”

Vailankanni Festival 2014 – Flag Hoisting – Part 2

Basilica of Our Lady of Good Health

Velankanni is home to one of the country’s biggest Catholic pilgrimage centres. The Catholic Basilica devoted to Our Lady of Good Health is popularly known as the “Lourdes of the East”. The origins of this church can be traced back to the 16th century and its founding is attributed to three miracles: the apparition of Mary and Jesus to a slumbering shepherd boy, the curing of a lame buttermilk vendor, and the survival of Portuguese sailors assaulted by a violent sea storm. It is built in the Gothic style, was modified by Portuguese and then further expanded later on due to the influx of pilgrims. The church building was raised to the status of basilica in 1962 by Pope John XXIII.

Annually, 20 million pilgrims flock to the shrine from all over India and abroad, out which an estimated 3 million people visit the shrine during its annual festival from 29 August to 8 September. The 11-day annual festival concludes with the celebration of the Feast of the Nativity of Mary on 8 September. Source: wikipedia.

Christmas Preparation – Day 24

christmas prayer

Slow down sins – Speed up Prayer

Because we are flesh and blood, we are very prone to giving in to the desire to sin.

Stay awake and pray that you may not come into the time of trial; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.(Matthew 26:41)

I can do all this through him who gives me strength.(Philippians 4:13)

How can we stop wanting to sin? How do we resist temptation?

“Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Even something as simple as slowing down our reaction time can help us resist Satan’s urgings for us to sin.(James 4:7)

I will speed up Alleluia and prayers which will help to Slow Down Sins.  Pace Oddity

That was then the “worst” death – Way of the Cross

That was then the “worst” death. Only the worst criminals could die like Jesus. And with Jesus things were worst, because not all the criminals condemned to death could receive nails on their hands and feet.

The nails were craved into the pulses, and not into the palms, as we are used to hearing. In the pulse, there’s a tendon which extends till the shoulder, and when the nails were being hammered, that tendon broke, obliging Jesus to reinforce all the muscles of his back, so that he could breathe as He was losing all the air from his lungs. In this way, He was forced to support Himself onto the nail craved in his feet, which was bigger than those craved into his pulses, for both feet were craved together. And, as his feet could not endure for a long time without tearing, Jesus was forced to alternate that “cycle” so that He could breathe. Jesus endured that reality over 3 hours. Yes, over 3 hours! Long time, isn’t it? Few minutes before He died, Jesus was not bleeding anymore. He was simply pouring water from his cuts and holes. When we imagine Him injured, we only picture Him with injuries, but is not enough; His wounds were true holes, made in his body. He had no more blood to bleed, He only poured water. Jesus poured all of his blood; He had three nails hammered into his members; a crown of thorns on his head and, beyond that, a Roman soldier who nailed a spear into his chest. All these without mentioning the humiliation He passed after carrying his own cross, while the crowd spat on his face and thrown stones.

Jesus had to pass all this experience so that you can have free access to God. So that your sins could be “washed”. All of them, with no exception! Don’t ignore this situation. HE DIED FOR YOU!. Do not believe that He only died for others (those who go to the church or for pastors, bishops etc). Accept the reality, the truth that JESUS IS THE ONLY SALVATION FOR THE WORLD. God has plans for you, show all your friends what he experienced to save you. Now think about this! May God bless your life!.

Be with God for a few minutes, leave whatsoever your doing and seize this opportunity! Let’s see if Satan can stop this. All you have to do is:
Pray for everyone, especially for your enemies;

Lord, you better know the life of ……………….. I ask You to bless him/her in all realms and make him/her prospering. Take care of his/her family, his/her health, his/her work and all his/her plans. Lead him/her not into temptation, but deliver him/her from evil. In Jesu’s name, Amen.

Think a moment and appreciate the power of God in your life, for doing what pleases Him.

“But whosoever shall deny me before men,
him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven”(Matthew 10:33)

Without Him, I am nothing, but with Him

“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me”. (Philippians 4:13)

Heart touching devotional song narrating about the station in this video is written by Fr. Abel C.M.I. in Malayalam Language of Kerala State, India. All viewers may not understand the meaning of the lyrics, but the music will surely touch your heart. This video also contains short narration and images of some of the places like Gethsemane, Golgotha, Jerusalem, Tomb of Jesus etc. These pieces of information and images are collected from the Internet. I am not sure about the correctness of the same. The aim of the video is to make the people think about the burdens and sorrows Jesus took for us.

If possible, it is good to pray and meditate Way of the Cross daily which will give peace and happiness to mind and also protect from Satan and Sin.

May the crucified Jesus Bless you and your family.
