Until now, Lord, separation was something that happened to someone else, anyone else, except me. Yet here I am, my mind full of the details of separation, and my heart full of pain. If this separation is a mistake, guide my spouse and me toward the reconciliation which will allow us to work toward a successful marriage.
Although it seems difficult now, I know that we can work toward reconciliation if we remember the love that first brought us together. It will not be easy, but the home and life my spouse and I have built together might be able to be restored if we both are willing to try again, Guide us, Lord, with Your love and grace at this difficult time. Amen.
Father, all powerful and eternal God, we give you thanks and bless your holy name. You created mankind as man and woman and blessed their union, making them a help and support for each other.
Remember us today. Look kindly on us and grant that our love may be completely unselfish, a gift like that of Christ to his Church. May we live many years together in joy and peace, and may we always give you heartfelt praise through your Son and in the Holy Spirit.
Read the below bible verses to understand what the scriptures say about married life. In today’s world are we following the same? Verses 6 says “Thus Sarah obeyed Abraham and called him lord“. But today many wives call their husband by name or something else which do not have any respect. Today not only women, even men also are after fashion, ornaments and make their outward look beautiful. Verses 4 asking the wives to “let your adornment be the inner self with the lasting beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in God’s sight.” But who cares or listen to these words. Read the verses 1 to know the hidden quality of a woman. How many wives know this, and how many try to follow this,
Verses 7 is for husbands. Many husbands take advantage of the weakness of their wives. Many think wives have to do only what they like and if they say anything against, the quarrel start. Divorce has become a fashion these days. They are not even bothered about the future of their own children.
1 Peter 3:1-7
Wives, in the same way, accept the authority of your husbands, so that, even if some of them do not obey the word, they may be won over without a word by their wives’ conduct, 2 when they see the purity and reverence of your lives. 3 Do not adorn yourselves outwardly by braiding your hair, and by wearing gold ornaments or fine clothing; 4 rather, let your adornment be the inner self with the lasting beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in God’s sight. 5 It was in this way long ago that the holy women who hoped in God used to adorn themselves by accepting the authority of their husbands. 6 Thus Sarah obeyed Abraham and called him lord. You have become her daughters as long as you do what is good and never let fears alarm you.
7 Husbands, in the same way, show consideration for your wives in your life together, paying honor to the woman as the weaker sex, since they too are also heirs of the gracious gift of life—so that nothing may hinder your prayers.
Let us pray to God give us strength to follow the scriptures and lead a happy married life according to the will of God, May the Holy Spirit bless our family and help to live together till the end of life.
Some women get married and then don’t do their duties as a mother and a wife. While the husband is at work paying the bills, the wife gets into mischief. That wife is a dead weight in her husband’s life. She drags him down. The way of a wicked woman is to divorce the husband of her youth. The way of a wicked woman is to divorce and then shack-up, living in adultery after quitting her marriage.
16 I would rather live with a lion and a dragon than live with an evil woman.
17 A woman’s wickedness changes her appearance, and darkens her face like that of a bear.
18 Her husband sits among the neighbors, and he cannot help sighing bitterly.
19 Any iniquity is small compared to a woman’s iniquity; may a sinner’s lot befall her!
20 A sandy ascent for the feet of the aged— such is a garrulous wife to a quiet husband.
21 Do not be ensnared by a woman’s beauty, and do not desire a woman for her possessions.
22 There is wrath and impudence and great disgrace when a wife supports her husband.
23 Dejected mind, gloomy face, and wounded heart come from an evil wife. Drooping hands and weak knees come from the wife who does not make her husband happy.
24 From a woman sin had its beginning, and because of her we all die.
25 Allow no outlet to water, and no boldness of speech to an evil wife.
26 If she does not go as you direct, separate her from yourself. (Sirach 25:16 to 26)
