Getting Seasonal – Christmas and New Year

The holiday season: can’t get enough of it, or can’t wait for it all to be over already? Has your attitude toward the end-of-year holidays changed over the years?

Christmas and New Year both are coming together. What a wonderful season, winter season, nice season to sleep under the blanket, difficult season to go out for work.

Christmas is an annual festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, observed generally on December 25 as a religious and cultural celebration among billions of people around the world. A feast central to the Christian liturgical year, it closes the Advent season and initiates the twelve days of Christmastide, which ends after the twelfth night. Christmas is a public holiday in many of the world’s nations, is celebrated culturally by a large number of non-Christian people, and is an integral part of the Christmas and holiday season. We must prepare our home and heart to accept infant Jesus.  We must prepare our heart with ejaculations and good deeds. It is the time for us to remember and repent about our sins, do a good confession and God forgive our sins.  Wherever possible, we must forgive our enemies, ask pardon to everyone whom we hurt with words and deeds. Forgiving, sharing joy, caring, loving should be the major part of Christmas celebration. Today for many people Christmas celebration is only limited with special food and drink. This is not correct way.  How much money we spend on celebrating Christmas only for enjoyment. If we give a small part of this amount to help the poor God will be very happy with our celebration. Let us celebrate this Christmas in a special way by giving a small part of money from our Christmas celebration budget to the poor.

New year season also coming. Let us remember the good and bad things we have done in this year and say thank to God for the good things and ask pardon for the bad things. Let us make a vow that we will try to avoid any such bad things in future. Let us try to change our attitude and life.

Wish you all a Merry Christmas and Joyful and prosperous New Year 2015.
